Our story

Founded in 1973, the Toyota Land Cruiser Club of Victoria (TLCCV) has grown into one of the state’s most established four wheel drive clubs, with over 50 years of history, community and passion for exploring the outdoors.

Where it all began

TLCCV was founded on 18 July 1973 by Graeme Wilson, John Whitney and John Atkins.

What began as a shared idea quickly became reality when more than 60 Land Cruiser owners gathered in East Melbourne for the inaugural meeting, with 31 members signing up on the night and TLCCV was officially formed.

The creation of Yarck

A major milestone in the club’s history was securing our Yarck property.

Originally leased land in 1979, TLCCV purchased 320 acres following approval at the 1990 AGM, with an additional 40 acres added to the club property in 2002.

Today the 360 acre property supports driver training, events and member activities.

Growing with our members

From those early beginnings, TLCCV has continued to grow alongside the vehicles we love.

Today, more than five decades later, we are one of Victoria’s largest four wheel drive clubs.

While founded for Toyota Land Cruiser owners, we now proudly welcome all makes of four wheel drives and a diverse community of passionate members.
