Sunday six cars headed off at 8:00am sharp to beat
the mountain traffic. We made good time to reach
the Mt Skene lookout area. We stopped for a short
break then continued on. We had only one hold-up.
It’s really hard for me to say who it was GUNTHER
SCHEFFEL. Gunther slid off the track and had to be
snatched out of his predicament – he was the only
one. After finally reaching the peak we enjoyed a
hot cuppa in almost perfect snow conditions.
The descent down the mountain on the other side
had everything the ascent had including – you
guessed it – GUNTHER SCHEFFEL – got stuck
again, this time a little different; it was a small log
instead of a little bit of snow that got him. Again,
after this time winching him out of his second
predicament, we finally continued down the moun-
tain.
The snow continued to amaze. The scenery was
absolutely beautiful and we arrived in Licola for
lunch around midday. The whole weekend was ab-
solutely terrific and I suggest to all you snow lovers
to get on board for next year’s trip.
And now for the Hook Award. I would like to nomi-
nate Adam for heading home (in his very organized
way) leaving his wallet and jacket on the picnic
table. Not good Adam!
Seriously, what a great weekend had by all, and we
would like to thank Adam and Simon for putting
such a great trip together. Thanks guys.
